Growing Legacy Premiere
September 25, 2014
The Universities at Shady Grove
We are so inspired by the potential for the film to educate our youngest local residents about the Reserve- one of the first questions asked by the audience was from a young viewer, "which came first, the chicken or the egg?"
We have lots of folks to thank- our film maker of course, Pat Ratkowski of Evergreen Productions, USG for hosting us, our panel members - Moderator Lee Langstaff of Shepherd's HeyFarm, Greg Glenn, Jr. of Rocklands Farm , Tony Cohen of Button Farm Living History Center, Shannon Varley of Bella Terra Family Farm, Woody Woodroof of Red Wiggler Community Farm, Ag Reserve Architect Royce Hanson, Jeremy Criss of County Ag Services and Tom Hartsock of the County Farm Bureau.
Also, thanks our great volunteers who made the night run smoothly. Thanks also to all the financial supporters of the film - The Kay Family Foundation, the Doris and Joe Letourneau Family Fund, The Ruth M Knight Foundation and the Ithaka Foundation along with all the individual donors through our IndieGoGo campaign and of course our MCA members- whose generous and consistent support gave us the faith that we could undertake this important but intensive project in the first place.
Where did our volunteers get those snazzy MCA T-shirts?
What's next? We will be holding more public screenings so don't worry if you missed it this time. We are also looking to distribute the film far and wide and get it in front of as many audiences as possible. And you can help!
If you have a group you think would enjoy a film screening, please get in touch with Kristina - [email protected]. Once we get our DVDs pressed we would love to share the film with your local group.
