We went over all the routes, stops and safety info - check out the recording.
The Ride only works with lots of help - volunteering for the ride is a great way for non-riding friends and family to take part in the ride and enjoy the after ride picnic. Check out the coolest SSL opportunity around. Find a perfect role for you here.

About the Farm Tour

Please join Montgomery Countryside Alliance for the 15th anniversary of the Montgomery County Farm Tour to benefit the Reserve and our quest to protect this special place. (What Has MCA Done for Me Lately?). You’ll enjoy quiet roads, rural landscapes with views of Sugarloaf Mountain.

Riders will choose among routes of around 6, 18, 25 30+ and 62  miles including quiet, rolling landscapes dotted with the Reserve’s orchards, red barns and silos. Many of the routes include views of Sugarloaf Mountain.  Beginners and experienced riders welcome!

Check out our Safety and FAQ Page

A turn by turn look at the 62 mile ride from 2020 - options include routes for beginners or advanced riders like the folks who shared their ride here. (The start point will be different this year so this route will change)

Routes
We are creating all new routes from our new start/end point of Linden Farm. Expect a route overview zoom on September 8th - registered riders will also have access to all cue sheets and Ride with GPS Pages for the rides (from 6-62mi). Join the Route Reveal and Learn more here
Picnic and Market
While some of the longer routes will have refueling spots on farms, we are bringing the farms to you this year with a pop up farmers and artisan market at ride's end.
Please note - there are no refunds but transfers of registration are allowed - kristina@mocoalliance.org

ENJOY THE RIDE
You won’t see any shopping malls or big box department stores, because you’ll be cycling in the Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve, where fresh air, farms and quiet country roads are largely protected from the pressures of urban sprawl. Your registration supports our work to protect the farms and open space of the Reserve. Montgomery Countryside Alliance is a lean, award winning organization and we depend on the the support of local folks who care about local farms (that's you!). Come Ride With Us!

The Agricultural Reserve is 100,000 acres of farmland and parkland set aside by Montgomery County back in the 80s to protect rapidly dwindling farmland. Montgomery Countryside Alliance is the small (but Mighty!) nonprofit that helps these farms on Metro's edge endure despite intense development pressure.
Every minute 3 acres of farmland is lost in America - the Ag Reserve is our chance to beat the trend
in Montgomery County - with your help.

MCA is proud to announce that we have been recognized for a third time as one of the best small charities in the D.C. region by Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington. A panel of 110 expert reviewers from area foundations, corporate giving programs, and peer non-profit organizations evaluated 270 applications.

MCA is known as an effective and innovative non-profit whose efforts to preserve and promote Montgomery County’s nationally recognized 93,000 acre Ag Reserve have brought increased public and governmental support of local food production and farmland and open space preservation. Most importantly, MCA’s efforts are putting more farmers on the ground and keeping them there.
