Join us on September 21, 2019 for a beautiful evening at Shepherd’s Hey Farm, featuring delicious local food, spectacular views, and live music. This is the event of the season! Ticket sales close September 14!

Guests will enjoy the culinary delights of locally sourced vegetables, fruit, meat, and baked goods provided by local farmers and producers and prepared by local chefs; sip beer and wine produced in the Reserve; tap their toes to live, local musicians Peace Run; and take in the gorgeous views of Sugarloaf Mountain. Proceeds benefit Montgomery Countryside Alliance, the small (but mighty!) award-winning nonprofit that protects Montgomery County's Agricultural Reserve, its farms and our shared water supply. See the wrap up of the 2017 event here.

New this year, we are doing our part to reduce food waste by partnering with Community Food Rescue (CFR), this program of Manna Food connects perfectly good food to our neighbors experiencing hunger. CFR makes it easy to "feed more and waste less" with their ChowMatch program, consider it for your business or next event!

MCA is proud to announce that we have been recognized for a third time as one of the best small charities in the D.C. region by Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington. A panel of 110 expert reviewers from area foundations, corporate giving programs, and peer non-profit organizations evaluated 270 applications.

MCA is known as an effective and innovative non-profit whose efforts to preserve and promote Montgomery County’s nationally recognized 93,000 acre Ag Reserve have brought increased public and governmental support of local food production and farmland and open space preservation. Most importantly, MCA’s efforts are putting more farmers on the ground and keeping them there.
