Ride the Reserve Route Hazards

What? Wayward Wayfinding at Willard and Westerly? Plus More Places to Watch For Plus Cold Drinks for Reserve Riders
Picture
From our Route Recon -
  • "There is a new sign at the corner of W Willard and Westerly. the problem is that the Westerly Rd sign is pointed in the direction of what is W Willard And W Willard is pointed towards what should be Westerly." This issue impacts all but the 28 mile route.

  • Happy to report that all roads are in good condition
the lumpy roads are still lumpy (sugarland)  and the single lane bridges on River rd
and farm roads are still well farm roads
all the standard wet spots are actually quite dry (MtNebo and River)!
  • Significant gravel in usual spots
    1. Slidell at Moon Rising farm
    2. Whites Store Rd in 2 spots -As you are coming DOWN Whites store from Peach Tree Rd
    - about 30-50 feet PRIOR to the bridge over they creek. and AT the bridge
  • Also traffic on Sugarland is bad because of RockCreek Winery and Homestead Farm.
Martinsburg Rd also had more cars than I usually expected but it was Sat morning.

MCA is proud to announce that we have been recognized for a third time as one of the best small charities in the D.C. region by Catalogue for Philanthropy: Greater Washington. A panel of 110 expert reviewers from area foundations, corporate giving programs, and peer non-profit organizations evaluated 270 applications.

MCA is known as an effective and innovative non-profit whose efforts to preserve and promote Montgomery County’s nationally recognized 93,000 acre Ag Reserve have brought increased public and governmental support of local food production and farmland and open space preservation. Most importantly, MCA’s efforts are putting more farmers on the ground and keeping them there.
