Re-Leaf the Reserve, part of the Reforest Montgomery program, offers free reforestation to property owners in the Ag Reserve.
Forests give us so much - thanks for being willing to support more trees in the Ag Reserve. There are as many ways to help as there are species in the forest and it will take everyone working together to achieve our ambitious reforestation goals. Please click the way you want to help and fill in the information (you can pick more than one!) We will be in touch to follow up.

At left planting near Little Monocacy River tributary.
We are currently identifying spring sites Some of the species planted this spring include: Sycamore, red oak, river birch, black cherry, eastern red cedar, black gum, red maple, white oak. We are specifically looking for acreage near stream buffers. Hosting a forest through Re-Leaf the Reserve is a long term commitment, requiring recordation of a Category I Forest Conservation Easement to protect the area planted. This easement is permanent and transfers with the ownership of the property. A forest deserves forever. See the MOU with the Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission that will need to be signed here. |
Note: Thanks so much to all the property owners that have signed up to host trees! Please note that we may not get to you for a site visit for some time. We only plant in the Spring.
Please note: The Re-Leaf Reserve program is only for properties in the Ag Reserve. Unsure? Click here to check your zoning. If you live in another part of the county, you may be interested in learning more about the other programs of Reforest Montgomery.
