At growingSOUL, we demonstrate and teach the strategies necessary to create a zero-waste food cycle including local food production, preparation, preservation, storage and composting, all fueled by renewable energies.
Heritage Montgomery
With a history stretching from Colonial times, Montgomery County has a long heritage evidenced by rich cultural and historical resources. As the area’s population has exploded in recent decades, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of heritage programs and a higher profile for the history and heritage resources of the county. The Heritage Tourism Alliance of Montgomery County (Heritage Montgomery) is an initiative created by county leaders and state officials to raise the profile of the area’s heritage, ensuring that residents and visitors alike understand and value the county’s full history. We want to encourage visitors to become local tourists, entice visitors to explore the county, stay longer & return more often.

Landscape and Nature Discoveries, Inc. (LAND) provides outdoor educational experiences for children, encouraging them to appreciate, conserve, and respect their natural environment while cultivating connections within the community.
Maryland Environmental TrustAs one of the oldest and most successful land trusts in the country, MET holds over 1,000 conservation easements preserving over 125,000 acres statewide. From the Chesapeake Bay to the mountains of Garrett County, our Land Conservation, Monitoring and Stewardship, and Land Trust Assistance Programs promote the protection of open land. MET also provides grants to environmental education projects through the Keep Maryland Beautiful Program.

Nourish Now
Nourish Now works to alleviate food insecurity in Montgomery County, MD and beyond by reducing the waste of unused fresh food. Nourish Now strives to meet this goal by collecting surplus fresh food from our dedicated food donor partners throughout the Washington D.C. metro area. Food is then redistributed directly to families in need and to over 60 other Montgomery County, Maryland nonprofit organizations that provide food assistance to those in need.
